NOTICE TO ODANAK BAND MEMBERS | CLASS ACTION FOR FEDERAL INDIAN DAY SCHOOLS
This notice concerns the compensation for survivors who attended federal Indian day schools or federal day schools funded, managed and controlled by Canada and listed such as St. Francis Academy (St. Joseph Academy), Pierreville Anglican/Protestant Abenaki Indian School, St. Francis Protestant, Anglican Church and St. Joseph’s.
The claim process was expected to commence on or about November 19, 2019, but due to a legal challenge to the Indian day-school regulations on the part of David Schulze (Partner, Dionne Schulze, S.E.N.C.S) on behalf of his client, a group member, the claims process is delayed for an indefinite period.
As soon as we get more information on this subject, we will keep you informed.

GALART 2019 | PRIX PATRIMOINE ET MUSÉOLOGIE | CULTURE CENTRE-DU-QUÉBEC (In French only)
![](https://caodanak.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/11/GalArt2019-683x1024.jpg)
DENUNCIATION OF SELF-PROCLAIMED GROUPS ACTIVE ON THE NDAKINA
The W8banaki Nation (Abenaki) has learned that an event occurred during the weekend of November 16th in the w8banaki community of Odanak in connection with the Métis Nation in Quebec through a publication freely circulating on Facebook.
Considering that the W8banaki Nation is engaged in a process of denouncing self-proclaimed groups active on the Ndakina, it is therefore necessary to denounce this event and to specify that it does not recognize any legitimacy to this organization.
