Installation and Operation

The charging stations for electric cars have been fully operational since February 2024. The 12 charging stations are available to all users, whether community residents or visitors, at a cost of $1.00 per hour.

Strategic Locations

  • Museum
  • Community hall/Post office
  • In front of the council offices
  • In front of the health center
  • In the Kizos Hall parking lot
  • In front of Kiuna reception entrance
To locate charging stations in the area, visit the FLO Network website (https://www.flo.com/fr-ca/flo-network/), where you’ll find an interactive map listing all available stations.

How It Works

Download the FLO application on your phone or go here.

Create an account.

Once your account has been created, you can follow the next steps to charge your car. It’s possible to do it all from the app, but you can also order a smart card. Note: A smart card can come in handy if you forget your phone or it runs out of battery.

Good Practices to Adopt

We encourage the responsible use of parking spaces dedicated to electric cars. Currently, our community fully respects these zones by adopting a few key practices:
  • Priority to plug-in electric cars: Please prioritize parking in front of charging stations for plug-in electric cars.
  • Regular parking once charged: Move your vehicle to regular parking once it is sufficiently charged to free up space for other users.
  • Wrapping charging wires: At the end of use, please wrap the charging wires so that they do not touch the ground, thus avoiding premature wear and snags during snow removal.

Awareness and Prevention

In accordance with local and provincial regulations, parking thermal cars in spaces reserved for electric vehicles can result in fines. However, the mandate of the Odanak police force is to inform and educate drivers, rather than to impose penalties.

Together Towards a Sustainable Future

By continuing to respect designated locations and encouraging others to do the same, we are moving towards a future where electric mobility is valued and respected by all. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation in making our community a greener, more environmentally friendly place.
