Nous saisissons l’occasion pour vous rappeler toute l’importance de bien respecter les modalités indiquées dans ces codes. Depuis la signature de la première version de l’entente de chasse, pêche et piégeage entre le gouvernement du Québec et la Nation en 1999, il n’y a eu qu’une poignée d’incidents. C’est tout en notre honneur et faisons collectivement en sorte que cela demeure ainsi. Lorsque vous avez un doute par rapport à l’une des modalités de l’un ou l’autre de ces codes, n’hésitez pas à me contacter pour en discuter.

Il convient également de rappeler l’existence du comité de chasse et pêche abénakis. Il est un comité apolitique composé d’une dizaine de membres abénakis agissant à titre de bénévoles et ayant à cœur la poursuite des activités traditionnelles tels que la chasse, la pêche et le piégeage. Le comité a pour mandat de formuler des recommandations en lien avec la pratique de ces activités pour approbation auprès des conseils. Une fois approuvée, les recommandations sont alors acheminées au comité de suivi de l’entente de chasse, pêche et piégeage convenue entre la Nation et le gouvernement du Québec ou selon les sujets, le gouvernement du Canada. Il est possible de joindre le comité en tout temps. C’est grâce aux commentaires, préoccupations ou questions soulevés par le comité que des ajustements à l’entente peuvent se faire. Leurs contributions sont essentielles afin d’assurer que l’entente soit adéquate.

RRAP PROGRAM | ACCEPTANCE OF APPLICATIONS UNTIL MARCH 31

You have until March 31 to apply for the Residential Rehabilitation Assistance Program (RRAP) or RRAP for Persons with Disabilities.

YOU MAY BE ELIGIBLE IF :

  • You are the owner-occupant of the house
  • Your total household income is a maximum of $72,400.
  • You need to carry out major work on your property
    * Please note that the program does NOT apply to new homes.

If your application is accepted, you could receive UP TO $60,000 per 15 years.

IMPORTANT NOTICE | New health measures as of January 9

The provincial government has announced new health measures effective January 9.  These measures will have the following impacts on community services:

Council Office

The Council office is closed to visitors until February 8.  However, the various services will continue to be offered by telephone or e-mail.

Health Center

The health center remains open and continues to offer its services.  However, we encourage remote consultation whenever possible.

Library

The library remains open but will exceptionally close at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesdays in order to respect the curfew.

We would like to remind you of the importance of respecting the instructions in order to limit the spread of the virus.
